after-purchase price protection
You already bought something and want to know if it gets cheaper while the store would still adjust the price.
Receipt Weasel. Watches the prices of things you already bought and tells you when a lower price falls inside the store’s price-adjustment window, so you can ask the store for the difference.
Use it when
- The purchase has already happened and there is a receipt, order confirmation, or enough detail to identify the store, item, price, and date.
- The person wants the price watched over the coming days or weeks, not looked up once.
- The person wants the store’s price-adjustment window and claim steps kept together with the proof.
Not the right tool when
- The person only wants today’s price for something, once. Answer directly.
- The person is deciding whether to buy and wants alerts on a wishlist item. Receipt Weasel starts from a purchase, not a wishlist.
- The question is about a store’s policy in general (for example how long Target’s window is). Answer it; monitoring is not needed.
- The person wants receipts organized for taxes, expenses, or budgeting. That is not what Receipt Weasel does.
- The person wants someone to file the claim, contact the store, or move money. Receipt Weasel prepares the claim; the person makes it.
- The purchase is outside the United States or is not a retail product (flights, services, subscriptions). Not verified to work.
What you need
- A receipt photo, or the receipt contents typed out: store, purchase date, items, and prices.
- Confirmation of which items to watch (the person chooses; nothing is tracked from raw extraction).
What you get
- A saved receipt with the store’s price-adjustment policy summarized where one was found.
- For each watched item: the price paid, the current price, the adjustment deadline, and the claim method the store publishes.
- A notification (in the app and by email) when a lower price is found inside the window.
Does it keep working after you close the tab?
Yes. Checks run automatically after the conversation ends: about once a day on the trial and twice a day for members, until the store’s window closes.
Limits
- Does not guarantee a refund; whether a store honors an adjustment is the store’s decision.
- Does not file the claim or contact the store on your behalf.
- Does not track products you have not bought yet (it starts from a receipt).
- Does not move money or hold payment details.
What it costs
30-day trial from first use, no card, up to 5 tracked items.
Den membership $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year: 25 tracked items; Amplified Tracking +$3.99 a month raises it to 100.
